February 18, 2020 by sarahj

Carmel, IN (February 18, 2020) – After a final selection interview at Hillcrest Country Club in Indianapolis, IN, one Indianapolis-area student from the Cohoat & O’Neal Caddie Program has been awarded the Evans Scholarship. This scholarship provides full college housing and tuition to students who are caddies and is renewable for up to four years at either Indiana University in Bloomington, or Purdue University in West Lafayette. The Evans Scholarship is valued at an estimated $120,000 over four years. Overall, there were 13 students from across Indiana who were awarded scholarships at the January 30th final selection meeting.

Grayson Wittbrod has participated in the Cohoat and O’Neal Caddie Program since 2016. His character and work ethic made him an outstanding applicant and now recipients for the Evans Scholarship. Grayson attends Noblesville High School. He plans to attend Purdue University in the Fall.

Started in 2014, the Cohoat and O’Neal Caddie Program has a total of 11 students who have become recipients of the Evans Scholarship:

The Evans Scholarship has 18 house chapters in leading universities across the country.

It’s estimated that after the final selections are completed in April, over 280 new scholarships will be awarded nationwide. Scholarship funds come mainly from contributions by 32,000 golfers across the country who are members of the Evans Scholars Par Club program. Evans Scholars Alumni donate more than $10 million annually, and all proceeds from the BMW Championship, the third of four PGA TOUR Playoff events in the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup competition, are donated to the Evans Scholars Foundation.
